Mark Standohar

Biography

Attorney Mark Standohar handles Workers’ Compensation cases at Urban Co. L.P.A. He is a life-long resident of the Mahoning Valley, graduating from Youngstown State University in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education. Mark then studied law at Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, passing the Ohio State Bar Exam in 1992.

Mark has practiced law in the Mahoning Valley for 28 years, and has also an elected official in Girard for 20 years. He was elected as the Girard City Law Director in 1996 and served with distinction for 16 years on that position until 2011. Mark was honored with a “Proclamation” by Mayor James Melfi in 2011 for his unprecedented achievements in litigation and negotiations, which allowed the City of Girard to emerge from fiscal emergency.

Mark retuned to Public Service in 2016, when he was elected to serve as Girard’s 2nd Ward Councilman, a position he holds currently. Mark has zealously represented injured workers since 1996, and is often selected by numerous law firms from around the State of Ohio to represent their clients at Workers’ Compensation Hearings before the Youngstown Industrial Commission.
